I do too. Regime change wars are wasteful and have drained our country of trillions of dollars, undermined our national security, and cost the lives of thousands of our men and women in uniform. I will bring an end to this failed foreign policy and withdraw America from ongoing conflict that achieves nothing and wastes so much.

How much money is wasted in Afghanistan?

US presence in Afghanistan costs us $4 billion a month. Imagine what we could do with those billions to care for our sick, support our teachers, provide housing and education, and in other ways serve the American people. I’ll end wars that waste our money and make us less safe.

I know the cost of war. When I came home from my 2nd deployment, I vowed to fight for peace, standing up to the most powerful, meeting with both friends and adversaries. Peace gives America our future. That’s why I’ll never stop fighting for peace.

  • H.Res.411   This resolution declares that if the President initiates wars without prior congressional declarations, such action shall constitute impeachable "high crimes and misdemeanors," which shall cause the House of Representatives to vote articles of impeachment. In addition, the resolution prohibits the President from making the United States a co-belligerent in an ongoing war without a congressional declaration.
  • H.R.608 Stop Arming Terrorists Act This bill prohibits the use of federal agency funds to provide covered assistance to Al Qaeda, Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), or any individual or group that is affiliated with, associated with, cooperating with, or adherents to such groups; or the government of any country that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) determines has, within the most recent 12 months, provided covered assistance to such a group or individual.
  • H.R.921 To establish the policy of the United States regarding the no-first-use of nuclear weapons.
  • H.R.1249 INF Treaty Compliance Act of 2019 l prohibits the Department of Defense from using funds to test, procure, or field any missile that would be prohibited under the Treaty Between the United States of America and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on the Elimination of Their Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles.

Healthcare for all

Are you worried about the rising costs of healthcare? Do you depend on medication that has become increasingly unaffordable? Are you stuck with high premiums and deductibles and a policy that doesn’t cover everything you need? Or are you basically happy with your health insurance plan and worried that you will lose it under a new administration?

I will make healthcare a priority. I support a single-payer system where everyone contributes and is covered, and that will also allow individuals to access private insurance if they choose.

If we truly want to reform our healthcare system, we cannot give big insurance and big pharma a seat at the table to draft legislation. Unlike so many of my colleagues in Congress, I will not bow to the pressure of lobbyists and special interest groups and will instead stand up for the interests of the American people.
